Where I’m From – Hallie Zenga-Josephson

I am from Windex,
from candles and Handi Wipes.
I am from the spiders in my window,
black, small, they never go away.
I am from dying ficus trees
that my mom keeps on buying
I’m from family dinners and eye glasses.
From Nan and Constance.
I’m from never being wrong and giving back.
From Work hard! and Eat your vegetables!
I’m from church and only going on Christmas.
I’m from Boston,
pasta and peas.
From the family vacations to Maine,
and inherited boxes of 15000 buttons.
On the bookshelf there are photo albums,
each picture hold a special memory.
